A clear coating added to printed labels to give a 3D effect to enhance the colour and feel of the label and to also to protect the surface from marking / scratching. Thickness of the clear layer approximately 1.5mm.

Why do we use it:

We use polyurethane resin because of its flexibility and hard wearing properties - also this material does not yellow in u/v sunlight as with other hard resins.

Polyester or Vinyl

What is it:

We use polyester or vinyl to print our labels before they have the domed coating added - the resin is a two part liquid which is mixed just before application to the label - it sets in about 10 minutes after being mixed and is then fully cured in an oven for approximately 24 hours.

Why do we use it:

We use polyester when photo quality print is required - We use vinyl when solid colours are printed - usually screen printed in 1-4 colours.
